EDUCATION CUTS A NEW MORAL LOW FOR NJ

CITIZENSFORDEMOCRACYNJ.ORG
EDUCATION CUTS, 2,50,000 FAILING STUDENTS & 9,000 ELECTED OFFICIALS A NEW MORAL LOW FOR NEW JERSEY. A NATIONAL SHAME?

New Jersey is the most urbanized state in the richest democracy with highest corruption, highest property tax, costliest public schools and colleges. NJ’s multiple governments are spending too much. We have 25 times more municipalities, school boards, over paid managerial staff and 40 times more elected politicians/officials. Nowhere in the world are 8.5 Million helpless residents being governed by 9,000 legally corrupt Elected officials backed by equally corrupt aprx. 4000 attorneys and 580 police chiefs, 537 Municipal Judges etc in 566 legally racially segregated towns in 8,721 sq. miles. 38% poor & low middle class lives in 46 poor towns and 62% lives in 520 elite towns, a worst example of moral corruption of segregated housing with racial isolation.

Our School Boards are biggest dens of corruption besides the Municipal Courts and Police Departments.
There is no ethical and economical explanation why we need almost 651 racially segregated school districts with 672 superintendents and almost 5000 Elected Board Members. School Board elections with 15% historic turnout are for those with personal interest; teachers, parents, school superintendents, board members to steal and plunder tax payer’s money at the cost of the education and future of our next generation. School Tax represents almost 50% of the property tax in NJ. Still there are more than 2,50,000 students out of the total student population of 1.4 million, who failed to pass basic academic assessments. 40% of them are alone in Newark, Jersey City, Paterson and Camden, that raises the worst example of racial isolation in our schools.

State run Universities are no better; there are more executives and their support staff then Professors, Lecturers and students. Governor Corzine’s education cut of $169 Million Dollars and efforts by practically all Municipalities to cut school budget while increasing their own budget is a new low in our moral values. The $169 Million dollar cut translates into $325 Million dollars when you add inflation, increased cost of consumables like paper, note/text books and pay hike etc. Ultimately the Tuition Fee will go up which is already highest in the Union that will make Education more unaffordable for poor and middle class. Nowhere in the democratic world or even in dictatorships is Education Budget being cut seen. Every Government emphasize on Education to build a strong nation with educated citizens with leadership qualities by providing them best facilities including the Extra Curricular Activities and Early Childhood Education which our Rich Lawmakers call “Non-Mandated Programmes.”

14 Million residents of Capital Delhi of “India” a Poster Boy of corrupt democracy for American Media have 206 Elected officials, 1 Police Commissioner, 1 Education Director for 3035 state run schools,
1 Chancellor for Graduate and 1 Chancellor for Post Graduate colleges. New York City for 8 Million residents has 1 Mayor, 51 Council Members, 1 Police Commissioner and 1 School superintendent. Pennsylvania with 43% more population & 4 times the area of NJ has 20% ($5 Billion dollars) less budget than NJ. All of these make NJ, most corrupt and non secular state in democratic world.

What is wrong with us just to support 9000 Elected Officials, we have stooped so low now we want to steal from our own children and deny them their rights to be well educated in academic studies as well as master in sports, arts and other crafts?
Early Education is the foundation for all students to excel in their later life. By killing Early Childhood Education in our public schools and cutting the so called non-mandated programme like arts, crafts, music and sports; have we seriously thought about the consequences? Where the poorly educated; lethargic, obese majority future citizens from poor and middle class families with low level of intelligence, non-existent leadership qualities, team spirit will lead New Jersey and United States of America?

Education is like home land security, military, border security and religion (make you understand ethics, morality and human values). When we can not cut their budget what made us think that we can cut funding from the Education. This is the Life Line of students and the country’s future depends on these students. They are our future Leaders and the future of this Country. No one should have the rights to cut funding from Education for the poor and middle class. Rather there should be an inbuilt mechanism to increase it every year with increase in inflation and other factors.

Self Rule in NJ is all a sham, a make believe democracy by ethically & morally corrupt politicians and few attorneys. Instead of 566 Municipalities; 21 or lesser number of County Governments can provide educational, police, social welfare, health, recreation and other services to their residents. Instead of 70 School Superintendents in one county just one, instead of 70 Mayors in one county just one.

The time is now for a Constitutional Convention to tackle the fundamental problem of NJ government’s unethical, uneconomical, corrupt and racist structure. Home Rule is an ancient tradition whose time has passed.
We must modernize our government. We must bring back morality, ethics, honesty and secularism in public office. Then the first order of business should be to prioritize what is important and eliminate what is no longer affordable and needed like almost 4,000 elected politicians, 3,500 attorneys 672 school superintendents and 5,000 school board members. Then find ways to improve economic conditions, which will increase state revenue to elevate the standard of living by providing quality Education to less fortunate residents of this state.

The present culture of; if it is legal, it is ethical is dead wrong. It has to be Ethical First to be legal.
Just because you have a right to do something, does not mean it is right thing to do. NJ’s 9,000 Elected Politicians/Officials and a battalion of other officials who are not needed must think in ethical, moral and economic terms do they have the right to govern the residents the way they are unethically, dishonestly governing them at present?

Governor Corzine’s and local Municipalities Education cuts without the application of mind must be Rejected and Opposed at all cost.
They must cut unwanted not needed battalion of outrageously over paid politicians and officials who are stealing from the poor and middle class. There seems to be an effort to create slavery from the back door. The Rich who can afford Education will become Masters, poor and middle class barely educated citizens will become their Slaves. We must stop this and Education funding for public schools & universities must be increased by at least 20%.

Governor Corzine, state legislators and Municipal Councils must understand they are playing with a time bomb, history tells you those students from poor and middle class families have immense power and can change regimes. As Martin Luther King said, “First and foremost we are American Citizens. We are not here advocating violence. The only weapon we have is the weapon of protest. The Great Glory of American democracy is the right to protest for your Rights.” WE MUST PROTEST.

EDUCATION CUTS AS SEEN BY 10 YR OLD

E-MAIL SENT TO PROTEST RALLY ORGINZERS AT RUTGERS BY PRACHI

I am a 5th Grade student. My school is going to cut Music Instrument classes, Singing Lessons, Language classes, Art & craft classes. I have heard adults calling them luxury and they need to be cut to save money. I am completely lost how can you call extra skills for a student to be luxury? May be I want to be an artist when I grow up. How can our adults be so cruel that they do not want us to learn things to be an artist? I will be joining my elder brothers & sisters to tell our adults we deserve the best education and best facilities. PRACHI MAKKAR

Conversation she had with her Father after sending the above e-mail

“Papa is it luxury to learn Music Instruments, Art and Craft at School? I asked her why she is asking this question. Her reply was, “She has heard at her school these classes will be cut to save money, it is very unfair they are very mean they want to make the school a boring place and they do not want us to be an artist or learn any extra skills.” Further she added, “Papa can you take me to the student rally at Trenton tomorrow to protest against mean cuts?” I agreed to her request and next day on 4-27-06 we joined the students at Newark Rutgers and traveled in their Bus to Trenton to protest against the proposed anti middle class & minorities cuts in education programmes by corrupt, insane and inhuman Governor Corzine of NJ.

PRACHI MADE 2 VISITS TO STATE HOUSE IN THE SAME WEEK
